Chronic Conditions We Treat

In addition to our comprehensive oncology services, Regional Cancer Care Associates offers infusion therapy services for many common non-cancer chronic conditions at our community-based centers. The conditions we treat include:

  • Asthma: This is a lung condition in which a patient’s body reacts to triggers like smoke or allergens, resulting in constricted airways and lung inflammation that makes it difficult to breathe.
  • Crohn’s disease: This inflammatory bowel condition causes an immune reaction that makes the small and/or large intestine irritated and inflamed, resulting in abdominal cramping and gastrointestinal distress.
  • Iron deficiency anemia: A condition caused by a lack of iron, this condition means that a person doesn’t have enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout their body. This deficiency can make a person feel fatigued, sluggish, dizzy, or out of breath.
  • Multiple sclerosis: This is an autoimmune condition in which a person’s immune system attacks the protective coating on the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, which can affect vision, movement, and cognitive ability.
  • Osteoporosis: This is a common condition in which the body loses bone cells faster than they are replaced, causing bones to weaken and become more susceptible to fractures.
  • Plaque psoriasis: An inflammatory condition characterized by itchy, flaky skin lesions, it often occurs on a person’s scalp, elbows, knees, or palms.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis: This develops when a person’s immune system attacks the lining of the joints, causing painful swelling and inflammation and damaging cartilage, bone, tendons, and ligaments.
  • Ulcerative colitis: A type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), ulcerative colitis involves the body attacking the large intestine, causing abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea, and fatigue.

Many patients with chronic conditions are better able to control flare-ups with the aid of infusion therapies.

RCCA also infuses medications to treat several other conditions beyond those listed here. To find out if an RCCA care center near you offers infusion therapy that you have been prescribed for another condition, please call us at 844-346-7222.

Infusion Therapy in a Comfortable Setting

Infusion therapy is simply the intravenous (IV) administration of medication, as opposed to medicine being given in pill or shot form. Chemotherapy is a commonly known type of infusion therapy, but infusion treatment is increasingly being used to treat many chronic conditions, including several types of autoimmune diseases.

At Regional Cancer Care Associates, we offer the most advanced infusion therapies in a comfortable and welcoming setting. Our community-based centers provide a convenient alternative to traveling to a major hospital for treatment. Each of our locations is staffed by experienced medical providers who are well-versed in administering infusion treatment, as well as providing comprehensive patient education and counseling.
