The American Cancer Society hosted its 43rd annual Diamond Ball Gala on November 24, 2024, at the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, NJ. This event highlights the contributions of leaders in the medical community in the fight against cancer. Among the honorees is Dr. Andrew Bernstein from Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA), recognized for his significant contributions to oncology and patient care.
The Diamond Ball Gala serves as a key fundraising event for the American Cancer Society, bringing together medical professionals, community leaders, survivors, and advocates united in the goal of combating cancer. The funds raised support cancer research, advocacy, and patient care initiatives.
Dr. Andrew Bernstein is honored for his exceptional dedication to oncology and patient care, marking him as one of the distinguished medical honorees at this year’s gala. His leadership and advocacy in the field have made a significant impact on cancer treatment and patient experiences in the community.
Dr. Bernstein has been treating patients in Morris County and surrounding New Jersey communities for more than 10 years. He earned his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his internship and residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and a medical oncology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital. He has since served as the Associate Director of Medical Oncology at Chilton Medical Center and now practices at RCCA’s Riverdale, NJ division, offering innovative therapies such as immunotherapies and targeted therapy.
Jazmine Olson, Development Manager at the American Cancer Society, comments on Dr. Bernstein’s dedication: “Dr. Bernstein is a true advocate for families dealing with a cancer diagnosis; he is a leader in oncology and our communities,” Olson stated. “Dr. Bernstein plays a key role in furthering the American Cancer Society’s mission by his continued commitment to end cancer as we know it for everyone by raising funds for our patient support programs and lifesaving research.”
Since its establishment in 2012, RCCA has been at the forefront of community-based cancer care, with over 100+ specialists across 26 offices in New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, and the Washington, DC area. The organization is committed to delivering state-of-the-art treatments and access to clinical trials, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients.
The gala honors other medical professionals from various health systems, each recognized for their contributions to cancer care. These individuals exemplify the dedication and commitment necessary to improve treatment outcomes and advance the field of oncology.
