Dr. Jumana Chatiwala specializes in medical oncology and hematology with an interest in gastrointestinal malignancy, lymphoma, breast cancer, gynecological and genitourinary cancer, and blood disorders. Board-certified in oncology and hematology, Dr. Chatiwala has 16-plus years’ experience in oncology and hematology and has been treating patients in the Sussex County area for more than seven years. On staff at Newton Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Dr. Chatiwala is active in cancer research studies.
Dr. Chatiwala received her medical degree from MS University in India. She completed her residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, N.J., in internal medicine. She also conducted her fellowship training at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in hematology and oncology. Dr. Chatiwala was a faculty attending in the Oncology/Hematology fellowship program at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for five years following the completion of her fellowship training.
Dr. Chatiwala is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American Medical Association. Her honors include Jersey’s Best Magazine Top Doctor in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022; Jersey’s Best Magazine Top Doctor for Cancer in 2018, 2021 and 2022; and Exceptional Women in Medicine 2020, 2021, 2022. She speaks three languages: English, Hindi and Gujarati.
